Kids with Autism can enjoy Taronga Zoo like a VIP

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Taronga Zoo Sydney will be opening at 8.30am on April 28th for its next Access Taronga Day.

On Access Days, the Sky Safari, animal enclosures and meet and greets begin an hour in advance for registered guests on the Autism Spectrum. You and your family can enjoy the zoo experience in peace and quiet before the crowds arrive!

Register online or by phone to be part of Access Taronga. When you arrive, pick up a special VIP badge at the Information Desk to alert onsite staff to offer help if needed.

Taronga Zoo Sydney also provides a ‘social story’ to make arrival at the zoo as easy as possible. Check it out here to plan your visit and help understand what you can expect at Taronga. Onsite staff have also completed training with Autism Australia and can help you out on the day.

If ever you need a break from the kangaroo capers, meerkat mayhem and busy beavers, Taronga provides special Tranquil Zones indicated on their Accessibility Map. Wander across to the concert lawns and deer exhibits to find peaceful picnic spots offering a bit of respite from the hustle and bustle.

Read up on Taronga’s website to discover more about visiting the zoo with guests with Autism. Information Desks are also a huge help onsite.
