Singapore Airlines has been named ‘Best Airline in the World’ in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Airlines 2018. 

Singapore Airlines has been named the best airline in the world.

The global booking website uses an algorithm that takes into account the quantity and quality of airline reviews and ratings over a 12-month period to determine the award recipients.  Consideration was given for outstanding service, quality and value.

Singapore Airlines’ CEO, Mr Goh Choon Phong says he was honoured to take the prestigious title. 

“The award is a validation of the hard work and dedication of our thousands of staff all around the world, who focus their attention every day on ensuring that Singapore Airlines remains competitive on a global level,” Choon Phong says.

“Our business model is based around three main pillars – product leadership, service excellence and network connectivity. We are continuing to invest heavily in all three areas to ensure we have industry-leading offerings that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations, both on the ground and in the air.”

In addition to the “Best Airline in the World’ title, Singapore Airlines also won the catergories: Best Airline – Asia, Best International First Class – World, Best Economy Class – World, Best International First Class – Asia, Best Economy Class – Asia, Travellers’ Choice Business Class – Asia and Travellers’ Choice Premium Economy Class – Asia.

Singapore Airlines recently announced increased daily operations to Australia with a new  Singapore-Sydney-Canberra-Singapore routing and an additional Singapore-Melbourne-Wellington flight.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President, Mr Philip Goh, said the flight changes, effective from May 1, would provide greater choice to customers in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

“We continue to expand our operations here in Australia and these changes will help to meet the growing demand we have seen in the three cities,” Goh says.
