Word on the street is that there are some new residents hiding in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. They’re big. They’re colourful. And they’re koalas!
The Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail has arrived for its first visit to Sydney. Follow the custom map around the Royal Botanic Gardens to find all twenty-two of the metre-high fibreglass koalas. Each one is designed by an Australian artist.
Enjoy the trail for free until it closes on 30th November. Take a family snap with the one of the treasure hunt koalas to go in the running to win a prize. Pack a picnic lunch and make the most of the lawns, native trees, specialty gardens and harbour views.
Give an extra special welcome to the three new additions to the koala family, making their debut on the Sydney sculpture trail. Koalasaurus MAX by Pauline Roods, Charlie the Botanic Horticulturalist by Kim and Wayne Staples and Wollemia the Vital Scientist by Lisa Burrell each pay homage to the history of the Botanic Garden.
The award-winning Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail is curated by Arts and Health Australia Pty Ltd and usually calls Greater Port Macquarie home.
