Go horse mad at Man from Snowy River Bush Festival

There was movement at the station, for the word had passed around. It’s time to crack the whip and snag your tickets to the annual Man from Snowy River Bush Festival!

Imbued with all the grit and folklore of a Banjo Paterson ballad, the festival is held each April in the Victorian town of Corryong. Round up your herd and make a weekend of it by pitching your tent or pulling up your caravan at one of two festival camp grounds.

Dates for the festival in 2022 are 7 – 10 April.

The jam-packed events line-up typically includes working cattle dog championships, horsemanship demonstrations, bush poetry and ballads, the Bushman’s Whipcrack and an art and photography competition. Keep your eyes peeled for the Striplings events, in which 10 to 14 year olds compete in the main arena.

Families who travel with a wheelchair can use the accessible parking and designated viewing platforms at the main arena.

Sign up to the Kids Club activities for under 13 year olds and receive a special backpack.

Ticket pricing depends on which camp ground you choose. For a bit extra, a ‘super’ ticket includes entry to the high-stakes re-enactment of the poetic brumby chase. You can buy single-day entry to the Man from Snowy River Bush Festival if you prefer a shorter visit.

The full program with daily schedule is typically released in March on the Man from Snowy River Bush Festival website
