Sony is urging young photographers to get snappy for a chance to win up to $6600 of Sony camera gear and a trip to Sydney.
The prizes are part of the 2018 Alpha Awards. This is the second year the tech company has included a separate category especially for 11 to 18-year-olds with a passion for photography.
“Sony is keen to support up-and-coming photography talent,” Jun Yoon, the Head of Digital Imaging for Sony Australia and New Zealand says. “We hope this competition will fuel their enthusiasm and they will continue to enter Alpha Awards in the future.”
You can capture your images on any device and make as many submissions as you like, as long as they fit the theme ‘Gritty.’
Enter by posting your best shots on Instagram (it can be on Mum’s or Dad’s account) with the tags #AlphaYouthAwards and @sonyaustralia. The competition closes on April 2, 2018, so get snapping.
Sony will select two finalists, who will win an Alpha camera and lenses and will be flown to Sydney with their parent or guardian on 25 April, 2018. All accommodation and meals will be covered, as well as an exciting expert photography workshop.
The final winner will be announced at the Sony Alpha Awards Ceremony on 26 April and will win an additional $2000 of camera equipment.
