Free Minecraft pop-up event in Sydney this weekend

Has the Minecraft craze hit your house? Join the Mob at the pop-up event for Minceraft fans in Sydney this weekend.

Life-sized statues pulled straight from the hugely popular computer game will appear at Campbell’s Cove on November 30th and December 1st. This family-friendly event is totally free and runs from 10am to 7pm.

Meet Minecraft Earth mobs including Muddy Pig, Moobloom and the brand new Jolly Llama. Play a custom in-game adventure on-location.

You’ll find the event at 35 Circular Quay W, The Rocks. It is part of a whole host of ‘Mobs in the Park’ events popping up in London, New York City and ‘biomes’ all around the world.

This event coincides with the release of Minecraft Earth, which is starting to be rolled out in different locations including Sydney. It is an augmented reality version of the game that can be played for free on mobile devices, bringing Minecraft into the real world.

Minecraft has more than 112 million players across the globe and is the best-selling video game in history. It involves building worlds out of blocks and going on adventures. Some schools are jumping aboard the trend with Minecraft: Education Edition, which teaches about chemistry, coding and more.
