Overview

Established in 1937, the Carter Observatory in Wellington is home to Space Place, a exhibition that helps kids and families discover suns, planets and the universe. Look at the night sky through the Thomas Cooke Telescope and see the stars, learn about how space technology is influencing life on earth or learn at Space Place in the interactive galleries. The Observatory runs programs and shows like ‘Dinosaurs at Dusk’ and ‘We are Aliens!’ as well as the ‘Family of the Sun’ singalong planetarium show. There’s so many things to do that are all about the universe at the Space Place in the Carter Observatory.
